My favorite quotes from 2023

Read online.

I am consistently in awe at the technology of books.

Someone else lives a long, difficult life; then writes about it… and we get to read it — condensing years of toil into a few hours. As long as you can read, you have an advantage.

Focus is another thing.

But I’ve made it easier on you. Below I’ve collected some of my favorite quotes from the year for you to wrap your psychology around.

Enjoy~

What is offered for free is dangerous – it usually involves either a trick or a hidden obligation. What has worth is worth paying for. It is often wise to pay the full price — there is no cutting corners with excellence. Be lavish with your money and keep it circulating, for generosity is a sign and a magnet for power. — Robert Greene

Perhaps the very best question you can memorize and repeat over and over is, ‘What is the most valuable use of my time right now?’ — Bryan Tracy

A godly rich person is not known by the wealth they have obtained, but by the faith through which that wealth was attained — as well by their generosity. — Dale Mast

Whether you are a person, a corporation, or a nation, if you are making super-profits at the expense of others, you will eventually, somehow, someday, end up harming yourself just as you harmed them. — David Gikandi

Fear creates static in the spirit realm that prevents us from hearing God’s voice clearly. We remove the fear by making a mistake and by making our God bigger than any mistakes we can make. — Wendy Backlund

Just as the moth in his desire to know the flame is willing to destroy himself, so must you in becoming a new person be willing to die to your present self. — Neville Goddard

Going from nothing to something is so much more powerful than going from a lot to a super lot. The contrast, not the amount, is what makes you happy. — Morgan Housel

We can now see that depriving systems of stressors, vital stressors, is not necessarily a good thing, and can be downright harmful.

The less you desire, the richer you are, the freer you are, the more powerful you are. It’s that simple. — Ryan Holiday

If I had to live my life again, I’d make the same mistakes, only sooner. — Tallulah Bankhead

To be in business is to be assaulted by relentless adversity and crisis; it comes with the territory. — Carter Henderson

Most of our failures are in races for which others enter us. Most of our successes come from races we ourselves want to enter. We fail to win most races because we enter too many of the wrong ones: their races, not ours. — Richard Koch

We will never overcome the influence of poverty until we learn to become stewards of what voices we listen to. — Stephen De Silva

It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it. — Upton Sinclair

The professional cannot let himself take humiliation personally. Humiliation, like rejection and criticism, is the external reflection of internal resistance. — Steven Pressfield

The best way to fail at inventing something is by making it somebody’s part-time job. – Colin Bryan

Rapid growth can create a perilous cashflow situation. — Jim Collins

All my dumb tax could have been avoided if I had just questioned a couple of obvious assumptions prior to pulling the trigger. — Keith Cunningham

If you chase money desperately in the earnest belief that you can never be happy without it, I doubt very much you will succeed. — Felix Dennis

The person interested in success has to learn to view failure as a healthy, inevitable part of the process of getting to the top. — Dr. Joyce Brothers

Leverage is a force multiplier for your judgement. — Eric Jorgenson

Psychological stress is the net effect of a condition that you are resisting or wish to escape, but the conditiondoes not have any power in and of itself. — David Hawkins

Today, the highest-paying position in business is the professional thinker. — Steve Siebold

If our enemies are constantly watching us, we are careful not to let them find a weak spot in our fortifications, and this eternal watchfulness develops qualities in us which we would otherwise permit to lie dormant. — Arn Rand
